“Epico Vino Rosso” is a tribute to the beginning of an adventure in winemaking. This extraordinary wine, made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, bears the name “”Epico“” because it is the result of the very first vinification. With a ruby color, bright and light, Epico embodies youthful freshness, but also shows a strong personality. The wine is intensely perfumed and offers rich acidity and firm tannins on the palate, providing a lively and dynamic taste experience.
The grapes for Epico are grown on clay and calcareous soils with a southern exposure, which contributes to the wine's depth and structure. Traditional Guyot pruning methods are used to keep yields low and increase quality. After careful selection, the grapes are destemmed and lightly pressed, followed by natural fermentation without the addition of selected yeasts. The maceration on the skins lasts 15 days, ensuring a nice balance between fruitiness and tannins. Epico then ages for 8 months in tanks and another 12 months in bottle, allowing the flavors to fully develop.
Epico is a versatile red wine with a lively and fresh character. Its elegant acidity and pronounced tannins make it perfect to pair with meat dishes, stews, aged cheeses, risottos and lasagna. Serve it at a temperature of 18-20 °C to fully enjoy its intense aromas and layered flavor experience.
