Product description
The '1831' Alta Langa DOCG Metodo Classico is a tribute to the family tradition of Azienda Agricola Gallo. Back in the 1990s, the family pioneered the Metodo Classico Piedmontese experiment at Montabone, planting Pinot Nero and Chardonnay. After years of delivering grapes, the ambition to produce its own sparkling wine grew, leading to the first Alta Langa DOCG in 2019.
The cuvée consists of 70% Pinot Nero, harvested in mid-August for freshness and structure, and 30% Chardonnay, picked later for fullness and softness. The wine is aged for a long time on yeast and has a Brut dosage. With an intense straw yellow colour and delicate mousse, it is ideal between 2025 and 2029, at a serving temperature of 6-8°C.
The name '1831' refers to the year the historic family cellar was built and symbolises its dedication to quality and tradition. The 2021 vintage is exclusive, with only 330 bottles produced.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
