The '1884' Capriano del Colle DOC Rosso Riserva is a red wine made from 50% Merlot, 40% Marzemino and 10% Sangiovese that pairs perfectly with red meats and mature cheeses.
This is an intense riserva wine that comes from a careful selection of only the best grapes. The wine has very fruity aromas with hints of balsamic that make for a pleasant mouth feel. After the grapes are pressed, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. After this, the 12-month ageing process begins in French oak barrels after which the wine matures for another 12 months in bottle.
The wine is perfect with hearty meat meals and especially game. Also pairs well with a cheese board with powerful cheeses.
