The Oltrepò Pavese Classic Method Pinot Noir DOCG Brut Bianco Cuvée "222 aC" is a brut sparkling wine made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, with a residual sugar of less than 12 g/l. This wine undergoes classic vinification with press, producing 50% must. After vinification, the wine is aged on yeasts for at least 24 months. The result is a deep straw yellow colour with an intense aroma of yeast and bread crust, with possible hints of ripe fruit, such as apple. The taste is dry, harmonious and pleasantly persistent with an alcohol content of 12.5 to 13% vol.
The Brut version of the 222 BC Line is suitable for the whole meal, from aperitif to dessert, and offers numerous pairing options depending on personal taste preferences.
For an optimal taste experience, it is recommended to serve the wine fresh but not too cold, with an optimal serving temperature of 6° - 8°C.
The wine 222 aC celebrates the history of Casteggio, possibly first celebrated in 222 BC, when consul Marcellus won the battle of Clastidium against King Virdumaro of the Gallic people of the Boii. As a tribute to that time, 222 Ac was created, an extraordinary sparkling wine according to the Classical Method, to celebrate both small and large victories.
