The Aigine Rouge is a natural wine made from 75% from Merlot and 25% Syrah. And is fully certified organic. This red wine is perfect to drink with a piece of grilled red meat, but is also delicious with hard cheeses.
Aigine Rouge is a French natural wine that is also fully certified organic. This red wine consists of 75% Merlot and 25% Syrah. The soil, a mix of sandy loam and limestone cobbles, supports the old vines that are gradually transitioning to organic farming and are carefully harvested by hand, with a yield of 30 hectolitres per hectare.
In the cellar, the wine undergoes natural fermentation without any additives. Indigenous yeasts carry out their work, and the wine is vinified and aged without the use of sulphur dioxide. A 10-day semi-carbonic maceration with very limited extraction characterises the process. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats, followed by 12 months aging in oak barrels.
At bottling, nature is once again given free rein. The wine undergoes no clarification or filtration and contains no added sulphur dioxide.
This wine is the result of the work of two young, passionate winemakers who give the terroir room to reveal its full potential. At 13.5% alcohol by volume, this wine presents itself with a deep black colour, powerful and soft at the same time. The nose reveals notes of spices and fine wood. A silky smooth wine with aromas of red fruit and stewed fruits.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
