Our Piedmont DOC Chardonnay “Bateaux Black Label” is a refined white wine that fully showcases the elegance and power of the Chardonnay grape. This exclusive wine is produced with care and skill in the municipality of Castel Boglione, where the vines have been deeply rooted for an average of 30 years in the rich soil at an altitude of 430 meters above sea level. The vineyards face east, providing optimal exposure to the morning sun and slow, balanced ripening of the grapes.
Each grape is hand-picked and collected in small baskets to ensure quality. After gentle pressing of the whole bunches, the must undergoes careful fermentation and 10-month aging in oak barriques. The wine then rests for another 1 year in bottle, further developing its full, complex character.
The result is a rich, round and creamy Chardonnay, reminiscent in style of the finest wines from Burgundy. The wood aging adds subtle notes of vanilla and toasted nuts, while maintaining the freshness and minerality of the grape. The Bateaux Black Label Chardonnay is perfectly balanced and goes beautifully with refined fish dishes, creamy pastas and soft cheeses.
