The 'Cairanne rouge AOP is a red wine made from 40% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 20% Carignon that can be beautifully drunk with full-bodied main dishes.
The grapes for this wine come from different terroirs of the vineyards in Cairanne: "Chantal, les Garrigues, les Combes, les Partides, la Ridel and les Bayes". This choice adds the necessary complexity and harmony to our cuvée, making it a true Cru des Côtes-du-Rhône Cairanne. The vines vary in age between 40 and 70 with an average yield of 25hl per hectare. The vineyards have sun exposure from the south. Before bottling, the wine was aged for 10 months in concrete tanks, demi-muids (600-litre oak barrels) and even larger barrels. Minimal sulphite has been added (1.5g/hl). The wine has a storage potential of 5 to 7 years if in the right conditions.
The Cairanne Rouge from Domaine Richaud has a distinctive red colour with bright ruby hues. The bouquet and flavour offer notes of red jam, dark chocolate and various spices. The tannins are fine, soft and the mouthfeel is full yet supple. Expressive fruity notes are combined with spice that makes for an elegant experience.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
