Montalbera's 'Calypsos' Colli Tortonesi DOC Timorasso Derthona is a smooth, balanced white wine made from 100% Timorasso and is also known as the 'white barolo'. This wine is best with fish, seafood risotto or dishes with white truffle.
In the beautiful Colli Tortonesi region, our Timorasso wine, also known as the 'white Barolo', thrives, produced with care and dedication. We nurture our vineyards to reveal the unique characteristics of the Timorasso grapes, and we allow them to thrive under the warm Piedmont sun.
With respect for tradition, our grapes undergo gentle pressing and a traditional white vinification process. After this careful treatment, the wine matures in stainless steel tanks, where it develops its characteristic flavours before refining further in the bottle, positioned horizontally for optimal maturation.
On pouring, you will see a straw yellow colour that reflects the wine's brightness and freshness, a visual sign of its refinement.
On smelling the wine, you are greeted by a persistent and intense aroma, with typical notes of ripe fruit such as quince, hazelnut, almond, flint and graphite. It is like an invitation to a walk through a lush orchard, where every scent offers a new discovery.
The palate is silky, balanced and full-bodied, with good structure and lingering flavours that enchant the palate. This Timorasso wine is a true pleasure to drink, with its depth and complexity enriching each sip with new nuances and sensations.
