The 'Camereccio' Toscana IGT Bianco from Tenuta Scrafana is a white wine made from Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia, and Vermentino and is best enjoyed with Sushi, octopus, shellfish and lightly aged cheeses.
The 'Camereccio' Toscana IGT Bianco is a refined wine with a blend of Trebbiano toscano, Malvasia and Vermentino grapes. The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed, after which the juice is statically clarified for about 24 hours. Slow fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of around 16°C. After fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in stainless steel tanks. This wine has a brilliant green-yellow colour with green hues. The intense bouquet is characterised by fine aromas of fresh fruit, medlar and plum, floral notes of yellow roses and wild flowers, and subtle mineral notes and freshly cut grass. The palate is dry, very fresh, slightly soft, reasonably balanced with good persistence prolonged by savoury notes. With an alcohol content of 12.5% vol, this wine pairs perfectly with dishes such as sushi, octopus and potato salad, venus shell soup, spaghetti with cockles and fresh pecorino cheese. Serve this wine at a temperature between 10 and 12 °C for an optimal taste experience.
The Camereccio takes its name from an ancient breviary, whose beauty of detailed decoration is mentioned in historical documents, which was donated to the Convento di San Lodovico (San Lodovico Monastery) in Montevarchi. The label features a monk, in tribute to the monks' centuries of work and efforts to preserve our precious cultural heritage.
