This intense red wine is made from the Cagnulari grape, but it also incorporates a number of local grapes such as bovale and pascale. In the nose, you can clearly smell red fruit, with Mediterranean scrub. In the first sip, you immediately notice the full-bodied powerful flavour. The Carpante is best served between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius. This wine also keeps well.
Carpante is the expression of the oldest vineyard in the area, grown as a bush and refined for at least 12 months in wood after a long maceration in steel tanks. It is a blend of indigenous grape varieties, which inevitably include the Cagnulari and other native varieties of the area such as Cannonau, Bovale and Pascale. So you get a wine with a rich structure and aromas of grapes under alcohol and Mediterranean scrub.
