The Saint Louis Chardonnay is an organic white wine made from 100% Chardonnay that goes great as an aperitif but also with delicate dishes with distinct flavours.
This exclusive cuvée, made from 100% Chardonnay, embodies the harmonious relationship between the grape variety and the exceptional terroir of Château Saint Louis. The result is a wine that rivals the best dry white wines from the Loire Valley and Burgundy in terms of finesse and complexity.
The grapes are selected with the same care as for a Châteauneuf-du-Pape, followed by cold clarification. This ensures controlled sugar content and optimal residual sugar, characteristic of internationally acclaimed sweet wines. The maceration on fine lees is reminiscent of the elegance of white wines aged in oak barrels. Vinification takes place under thermoregulation for about three weeks and ends with malolactic fermentation, similar to the methods used for the refined wines of the Côte de Beaune. 80% of the assemblage is aged in French oak barrels for four months, giving it rich aromatic complexity and an ideal texture.
The wine has pleasant and expressive aromas of white flesh, pear and fresh hazelnut. The mouth feel is round and pleasant with a finish characterised by hazelnut and spice.
