Product description
The Roero DOCG Colla 2021 is a red wine from the Colla area in Vezza d’Alba, Piedmont, Italy, made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, hand-picked from vineyards with calcareous soil. It’s vinified in steel tanks at 28 °C for 15 days, with malolactic fermentation in steel, followed by 18 months of aging in Allier wood barriques (50% new, medium toast). With its ruby-red color and 14.5% alcohol, this wine is a strong reflection of the Roero terroir.
Its scent is enchanting, with a bouquet of raspberries, hints of roses, and a touch of vanilla that adds depth. The subtle oak touch from the barrique aging blends beautifully with the fruity and floral aromas, giving this wine an elegant and tempting personality. It’s a scent that carries you away and invites you to explore its rich taste.
On the tongue, the Colla is rich and full, with smooth tannins that balance perfectly with the warmth of its body. It brings flavors of dried rose bark, red currants, and raspberries, with a dry finish (0.5 g/l sugar) and total acidity of 5.59 g/l. It matches wonderfully with meat dishes, international recipes, and the best medium-matured cheeses. Serve it at 18 °C in a Bordeaux bottle with a natural cork.
