The Roero DOCG Colla is a red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo that can be perfectly drunk with hearty meat dishes and medium-ripened cheeses.
This wine is the smaller brother of the Roero DOCG Riserva Colla. The main difference in the vinification process is the fact that this wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 months instead of 24. The nose reveals aromas of raspberries, roses and vanilla. The mouthfeel is rich with soft tannins balanced by the warmth of the wine. Hints of dried roses and blueberries can be tasted back.
Like the Riserva, the wine has an alcohol content of 14.5% and is best drunk at room temperature. However, it is advisable to let the wine air out 1.5 hours before drinking.
