Château Roquevieille's 'Cuvée Tradition' is a classic Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, from an exceptional terroir on the clay-limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion. Located at one of the highest points of the Gironde, the estate benefits from an ideal location for hillside viticulture, which contributes to the expression and elegance of this wine.
The blend consists mainly of Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled concrete cuves of different sizes, allowing careful selection and processing of the grapes for each lot. Whole cluster fermentation is chosen for some lots, adding complexity to the final result.
Maturation lasts 12 to 18 months, of which seventy per cent takes place in tanks and thirty per cent in new or once-used oak barrels. This approach aims to preserve aromatic freshness, with notes of red and black fruit blending with subtle toasted accents. On the palate, the wine shows itself harmonious and supple, with soft tannins and pleasant freshness. It is an accessible and balanced wine that goes excellently with a variety of meat dishes or a nice board of charcuterie.
