Vinicola Arno's Barbera d'Asti DOCG "Desolina" is a tribute to Desolina, the mother of the winery's founder. Reflecting Desolina's unique and precious personality, this wine is an ode to mothers everywhere. The wine offers a perfect balance between softness and acidity, with vibrant purple notes and a refined structure.
This wine is made from 100% Barbera grapes and has an alcohol content of 13.5%. The "Desolina" matures in stainless steel tanks and is further refined in bottle for at least one year before being released on the market. Annual production is only 1,500 bottles, making this wine a true exclusivity.
With a bright ruby red colour, "Desolina" offers fruity hints of mulberry, blueberry, ripe cherry and plum, followed by floral notes of violets, red rose and iris. Subtle spicy notes of black pepper and nutmeg complete the bouquet. The palate is fresh and juicy with delicate tannins and a pleasant, lingering finish. Perfect to pair with grilled meats, mature cheeses or an Italian pasta dish.
