Product description
The "Eccentrico" is a red wine named for its original and quirky character, a creation by Marcel Zanolari that deliberately steps away from trends. Made from red grape varieties in the Piedmont region with a yield of about 60 quintals per hectare, it grows on clay-limestone soils with southwest exposure. This wine stands for individuality, trained with traditional Guyot pruning, short cuts, and low yields for a concentrated, unique taste.
With a lighter ruby-red color, the "Eccentrico" offers a delicate and refined scent, blending spicy and floral notes – think subtle spices and flowers that bring elegance. The winemaking is pure and natural: after gentle destemming and pressing, it ferments without added yeasts in steel tanks, with a short skin soak of 5 to 6 days. It then ages for 12 months in tanks and 6 months in the bottle (75 cl), keeping its freshness and authenticity.
In the mouth, this wine is dry, with a pleasant bitterness that highlights its eccentricity, yet stays soft and smooth. It pairs well with light dishes like poultry, pasta with herb sauce, or mild cheeses. Serve at 16-18 °C to enjoy its delicate aromas and eccentric charm – a wine for fans of unconventional, natural reds that surprise and delight.
