Product description
The 'Ex Flammis Orior H.A.D.E.S.' Trocken 2020 is a full-bodied, powerful red wine made from 70% Lemberger, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Merlot and is best enjoyed with duck breast or boeuf bourguignon.
The 'Ex Flammis Orior H.A.D.E.S.' Trocken 2020 is a ruby red wine with a distinct aroma of berry fruit, combined with notes of chocolate, coffee and toasted wood. The juicy berry aroma unfolding on the palate is nicely balanced by a bright tannic structure. This wine will reach its full potential over the next five years. For those who wish to enjoy this wine now, it is recommended to decant the wine at least two hours before serving.
The wine is made from a blend in which Lemberger plays the main role (70%), complemented by 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. This combination creates a harmonious and complex wine with great depth. The grapes come from the best plots at the Verrenberger Verrenberg monopoly site, and the wine matures entirely in barriques, two-thirds of which are used for the first time.
With an alcohol content of 14.0%, this wine has a long aging potential until 2040, with the recommended drinking temperature being around 18°C. The wine has already received recognition in the 2023 Vinum Wine Guide with a score of 90+ points, praising its balance and delicately spicy complexity.
The 2020 harvest was affected by a late frost, resulting in lower than normal yields. Nevertheless, vegetation was even and grapes bloomed quickly. Dry, sunny conditions allowed the grapes to ripen well. Although it was not as warm as in 2018, light summer rain in August ensured that the vines did not experience drought stress. This year produced wines with distinctive varietal and vineyard characteristics and pleasant acidity.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
