'Feinherb' Rotwein Trocken 2021 is a cherry red wine with a velvety, fruity character, in which the aroma and taste are dominated by notes of red berries. The fruity, juicy aroma and balanced ratio of sweet and acid make this wine particularly accessible. Maturation takes place in stainless steel barrels and the terroir consists mainly of Gipskeuper. With an alcohol content of 11.0%, this wine is best enjoyed at a drinking temperature of 14°C.
Vintage characteristics: 2021 was characterized as a “cool climate vintage,” in which a late frost, a cloudy summer and excessive rainfall led to a demanding vintage. In addition to high infection pressure from fungal diseases, substantial foliage growth resulted in intensive hand work and detailed, selective picking.
Wine pairing: The versatile and slightly sweet 'Feinherb' Rotwein goes excellently with savory dishes such as spicy spare ribs, liver or game pies, wild boar sausage and merguez. For a delectable contrast, pair the wine with baked camembert and cranberries on corn salad.
