The Grecanico IGT Terre Siciliane is a white wine made from 100% Grecanico that tastes best when paired with grilled vegetables, salads as well as light fish dishes.
This wine is rated Indicazione Geografica Protetta and comes from the province of Trapani, with vineyards in Salemi and Marsala. The area has a Mediterranean climate with mild winters, limited rainfall and a very warm, well-ventilated summer. The vineyards are located about 80 metres above sea level and have medium-density soils, consisting mainly of sandy and slightly clayey components. The grapes are harvested by hand using traditional methods and this wine is made from the Grecanico grape variety. Vinification follows traditional methods, with the grapes being gently pressed before white winemaking, with fermentation at controlled temperatures. With an alcohol content of 12% vol, the wine shows a pale straw yellow colour. The aroma is delicate, floral and especially fruity. The taste is dry, fresh, soft and of medium structure. This wine is excellent as an aperitif and goes well with fish and white meat-based dishes. It is recommended to serve this wine in a tulip glass at a temperature of 8°C. To best preserve the wine, a constant temperature of 16°C is required, with controlled light conditions.
