The Rosso Piceno DOC is a red wine made from 100% Montepulciano that goes perfectly with game and red meat after eight months of aging in oak barrels. The grapes come from a vineyard perfectly south-facing with chalky soil at an average altitude of 350 metres above sea level. Fermentation of the grapes first consists of 10 days with skins after which secondary fermentation takes place in a closed barrel. Maturation takes place in barriques for 8 months. The wine is then bottled and refined in bottle for several months before it can be consumed. The wine looks best in decent red wine glasses at 18°C.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
