Product description
The 'In Senio H.A.D.E.S.' Trocken 2020 is a spicy, pronounced red wine made from 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Malbec and is best enjoyed with beer steak or fried lamb filet.
The 'In Senio H.A.D.E.S.' Trocken 2020 is a powerfully concentrated cuvée with a deep red, ruby hue and rich viscosity. Toasted wood is immediately noticed in the nose, reminiscent of the intense aroma of strong Arabica coffee. The tannic structure is very powerful and intense at this time, indicating that this wine still needs some time to reach its full potential. Decanting is currently helping to soften the tannins, but the hidden potential of this wine awaits optimal aging in bottle.
Sourced from the best parcels of the Verrenberger Verrenberg monopoly site, the wine is fully aged in barriques, 2/3 of which were used for the first time. This gives the wine its distinctive depth and complexity.
With an alcohol content of 14.0%, this cuvée is composed of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Malbec. The wine can be drunk until 2040, with an ideal drinking temperature of 18°C.
Awards:
Falstaff Red Wine Trophy 2022: 92+ points "Purple-red in color. In the nose incense, dark cherries, tomato leaf, eucalyptus, wet gravel and smoke. Dense on the palate, ripe, present tannins, lively acidity, red fruit, juicy, with slightly sweet extract, has pressure and grip, long aftertaste."
Meininger's 2022 Red Wine Award: 91+ points
Vintage characteristics: The 2020 vintage experienced a smaller harvest due to late frosts. Nevertheless, vegetation was even and flowering was rapid. Dry and sunny conditions allowed the grapes to ripen optimally. Although 2020 was not as warm as 2018, light rainfall in August maintained vine health and prevented drought stress. This resulted in a vintage with excellent varietal and vineyard characteristics and refreshing acidity.
