Montalbera's 'Laccento' Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG is an intense, persistent red wine made from 100% Ruchè and is best enjoyed with beef and game meat, mature cheeses and stews.
In Castagnole Monferrato, located in the enchanting landscape of Piedmont, this special red wine thrives. Our vineyards are tended according to the low Guyot training system, with 7-8 buds on the fruiting vine, with a green harvest in the summer months to promote quality.
We cherish the Ruchè grapes, 80% of which are harvested under perfect ripening conditions and 20% of which are overripe and harvested directly in the vineyard. This careful selection contributes to the complexity of our wine.
With an emphasis on traditional red vinification, our grapes undergo a careful process that brings out the unique flavour and aromas of the Ruchè grapes. After harvest, the wine matures in stainless steel tanks and then in the bottle, positioned horizontally at a controlled temperature.
