The name "Lacryma Christi" comes from old legends. The most famous one says that Lucifer, falling to hell, took a piece of paradise with him. Jesus saw the stolen paradise in the Gulf of Naples and cried big tears. From those tears, the vineyards of Lacryma Christi grew. This wine carries a mythical story, born from the fertile soil of Vesuvius, giving every sip a touch of eternity.
This Lacryma Christi, made from 80% Piedirosso and 20% Aglianico, has a deep, ruby-red color that shows strength and warmth. Its scent is strong and full, with notes of red fruit from the Piedirosso and a firm, spicy depth from the Aglianico. It’s an aroma that blends the rough beauty of its volcanic origin with an inviting richness, perfect to explore with a good glass.
On the tongue, this wine is bold and tasty, with an alcohol content of 13%. The Piedirosso adds a soft fruitiness, while the Aglianico brings structure and spice, leading to a long, rich finish. It’s great with spicy dishes and hearty meat sauces, where its character lifts the flavors. Serve it between 16 and 18 °C to feel its powerful personality fully.
