The Langhe Nebbiolo DOC by Agnelli Viassone is a red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo that is best drunk with hearty (meat) dishes or rich pastas.
The vineyard where the Nebbiolo grapes for this wine come from has Western exposure. The vineyard was planted in 1977 but the first vintage is from 2020. The grapes are harvested by hand and collected in perforated crates. After harvesting, the wine matures for 10 months in large 20-hectolitre wooden barrels.
When poured, the wine stands out for its ruby red colour with garnet reflections. In the nose, aromas of red fruits such as strawberry and blackberry emerge, along with balsamic notes, liquorice root, mint and fresh flowers. In addition, subtle hints of minerals and orange peel are present. Tasting the wine, you experience an intense flavour with notes of red fruit, vanilla and bitter orange. The tannins are nicely integrated and provide an enveloping structure. The wine has some saltiness and finishes with a lingering finish. The wine has an alcohol content of 14.5% vol.
