Based on Nebbiolo grapes, and with local grapes such as Pignola and Rossola. For this new line of wines produced by our vineyards, we came up with specific names referring to the Camuna civilisation. Of this civilisation, we have found several finds in our vineyards that testify to its presence in Valtellina.
Drupes for this wine come partly from vineyards more than 60 years old, grown on rittochino terraces, and partly from newer vineyards, worked with the giropoggio method. In this area, we planted new cuttings from clonal Chiavennasca selection, carried out by the Fojanini Foundation. The first grapes give the wine structure, persistence and spice, while the others give aroma, freshness and a beautiful brilliant ruby colour.
Yield: ~70 q.li/Ha
Vineyards: hills with sun exposure towards the south, of Valtellina Superiore Sassella in the municipalities of Sondrio and Castione Andevenno, at an altitude between 300 and 400 metres above sea level.
Soil type: sandy soil, permeable, moderately deep.
Vinification: Vinification is done strictly and exclusively with indigenous yeasts, maceration on the skin for about 8 days, with controlled temperature.
Aging: Partly with 2nd and 3rd step tonneaux, partly in large 35 hl oak barrels for 12 months, then in stainless steel tanks and concrete tanks.
Ageing potential: medium aging, about 6-7 years.
Ideal with pasta, risotto, red and white meat, cheese.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
