The N. Rouge- AOP Luberon is an organic red wine made from Grenache noir (55%) and Cinsault (45%)and is best enjoyed with a good piece of red meat, but different types of cheeses will also really do the wine justice.
The Rouge 2021, an organic wine red from the AOP Luberon, reflects remarkably well the terroir of MasLauris, dominated by Grenache noir (55%) and Cinsault (45%). Located at an altitude of 800 metres at the foot of the Luberon, the vineyards benefit from a microclimate with cool nights and sunny days. The mistral plays a crucial role in maintaining impeccable health of the grapes, contributing to the finesse and freshness of the wine.
The organically certified vines are carefully harvested by hand, very early in the morning by the light of a lamp, in order to harvest fresh grapes and maintain their integrity. The 2021 vintage began with an exceptionally warm February, followed by a historic frost in April, which tested the emerging buds. Despite that, it yielded beautiful bunches of high quality, albeit in lesser numbers. A hot summer, but not scorching, with good humidity levels until harvest, enabled the vine to express itself fully without problems. Because of the growth slowdown caused by spring frosts, harvests proceeded later, with cool nights, allowing us to bring in fresh grapes of good health, despite some rain showers. Because ripening took place later, the wines generally have a lower alcohol content than in previous years.
A beautiful 2021 vintage, this wine is characterised by its freshness and juicy, crisp red fruits. Vinification includes a careful gravity harvest. Alcoholic fermentation takes place exclusively by indigenous yeasts in raw concrete tanks. Semi-carbonic acid fermentation with a small percentage of whole bunches and the rest fully destemmed but not bruised. Short maceration of about ten days. Vinification certified without additives. Aging is done entirely in concrete tanks. It is bottled in spring 2021 according to the lunar calendar to preserve its maximum aromatic potential. The wine is unfiltered, unclarified and additive-free. Only slight sulphurisation at bottling.
With an alcohol content of 13.5% vol, this cuvée, with its beautiful ruby colour, is fruity and tasty. The nose concentrates on fresh cherries. It will surprise your taste buds with its notes of red fruit and soft, light tannins. Can be drunk at room temperature or lightly chilled.
