The 'Le Nocche Grignolino DOC' is a red made from 100% Grignolino that goes well with risotto, grilled vegetables.
The red grape Grignolino is typical of the hills of Monferrato, in Piedmont. The name probably derives from the dialectical word "grignolo", meaning grape seed, which gives a pleasant bitterness to the wine. It is a tricky vine requiring the right soil composition and location. However, it produces a very good wine.
The wine has a ruby red colour. It has an intense fruity nose and floral aromas typical of the grape variety. On the palate, the wine is fresh, dry with light tannins and a pleasant bitter almond aftertaste in the finish.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
