The Lemberger Trocken 2022 from Furst Hohenlohe Oehringen is a red wine made from 100% Lemberger and is best enjoyed with Swabian cuisine.
The Lemberger Trocken offers a deep cherry red color and enticing aromas of bright berries. The subtle tannins and pleasant acidity create an exciting flavor experience that is perfectly balanced. This wine is particularly well paired with Swabian cuisine, where it can fully unleash its fresh character and complexity. Some of the wine has aged in multiple occupied barriques, which adds an extra layer of refinement and depth to the taste.
The terroir of this wine consists primarily of Gipskeuper, which contributes to its unique minerality and structure. With an alcohol content of 13.0%, this wine offers drinking pleasure until 2029, if served at an ideal temperature of 18°C.
This wine is the result of a challenging year in which nature left its mark. Late frosts in the spring, followed by a summer with little sun and excessive rainfall, made 2021 a demanding vintage. High pressure from fungal diseases and abundant foliage growth demanded intensive care and manual labor in the vineyard. This eventually led to a highly selective manual harvest, picking only the best grapes.
The 2021 vintage can be considered a classic example of a “cool climate vintage” and offers a wonderful reflection of the craftsmanship and dedication it took to produce an exceptional wine in a year full of challenges.
