The L'Inopiné Rouge AOP Luberon is a red wine made from Serine (99%) and Grenache noir (1%) and is best enjoyed with a piece of red meat, game and hard cheeses.n.
The parcels, located at 800 metres altitude, benefit from the microclimate that offers cool nights and sunny days, with the mistral playing a crucial role in the healthy growth of the grapes. These conditions result in a wine that exudes finesse and freshness, infused with the ripeness of the grapes.
The organically certified vines are harvested by hand with great care, early with the help of a headlamp to bring in the grapes fresh and unblemished. The 2021 vintage began with a remarkably warm February, followed by a frost in April that affected bud formation. Despite these challenges, the effort resulted in high-quality, albeit limited, grapes.
Vineification involved careful gravity harvesting, alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in raw concrete vats, followed by blending after four weeks of maceration and sulphurisation at bottling. Maturation took place in cold concrete vats, resulting in an alcohol content of 14% vol.
On tasting, the wine reveals an intense garnet colour with violet nuances. The bouquet offers aromas of blackcurrant, complemented by notes of liquorice and a hint of pepper. On the palate, the wine is well balanced, with spicy and cocoa notes, and remarkable length. This red wine harmonises perfectly with red meat, game and hard cheeses, and is also an excellent companion for unsweetened chocolate desserts.
