The Ludovica from Canonica is a full-bodied, sturdier red wine that contains a lot of fruit. The wine is a blend of Barbera, Nebbiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon, which is pretty special as Cabernet Sauvignon is not very common in Piedmont. By making a blend of these three grape varieties, you get a nice firm wine with hints of blackcurrant and red fruit. This wine pairs well with a good full pasta and grilled meat.
