The 'Marvès' Rouge IGP Pays d'Oc from La Croix Martelle is a ruby red wine made 100% Cabernet and is best enjoyed with grilled meats, and also as an aperitif.
Located between the great plain of Minervois and the slopes of the Causses de Minerve, in the municipality of Cesseras, this wine comes from the appellation IGP Pays d'Oc. The wine is made from a mono-cépage Cabernet, sourced from plots that have been organically managed since 1998, which allows the wine to fully express the characteristics of its terroir.
On arrival at the winery, the grapes are destemmed and then vinified in a traditional concrete vat. The maceration in the vat lasts about three weeks, which is necessary to refine the tannins.
The wine has a ruby red colour with bluish reflections. The expressive aroma reveals scents of red fruits such as raspberry and currant. On the palate, the wine offers a very fresh fruit attack, with the tannins present providing a nice balance. Marvès is the perfect companion to aperitif dinners and goes well with grilled meats.
