Product description
The Menturin Dolcetto d'Alba DOC is a beautiful expression of Piedmont wine tradition. Originating from the steep slopes of the renowned Gallina Cru, the grapes benefit from ideal southern exposure, ensuring ripe, aromatic fruit. Dolcetto grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September and undergo careful vinification with fermentation and a six-day maceration at controlled temperatures. This allows the fruity aromas to be optimally preserved. After aging in stainless steel vats, the wine is bottled in the spring after harvest, highlighting its fresh, lively character.
This Dolcetto d'Alba has a distinctively fruity and accessible profile. In the glass, it presents itself with an intense ruby color and an inviting scent of ripe berries. On the palate it is supple, with soft tannins and a pleasant freshness that makes it wonderfully drinkable. The wine is at its best when drunk young, within four years of harvest, at a serving temperature of 16-18°C.
This wine is a perfect accompaniment to Piedmontese cuisine and pairs excellently with local specialties such as tajarin pasta, finanziera and Murazzano cheese. Its character also comes out nicely with charcuterie, fresh or semi-aged cheeses, grilled meats and savory entrees. A versatile and authentic choice for lovers of Italian red wines.
