This wine is classified Indicazione Geografica Tipica and comes from the province of Trapani, with vineyards in Trapani and Mazara del Vallo. The climate is typically Mediterranean, with mild winters, limited rainfall and a very warm and well-ventilated summer. The vineyards are at a low level above sea level and have medium-density, slightly clayey soil. The grapes are harvested by hand using traditional methods. The Merlot grape variety is used for this wine. The wine is vinified using traditional methods, including maceration at controlled temperatures. The wine's alcohol content is 13.5% vol. The wine has an intense, opaque red colour and a powerful aroma with hints of red fruit. The taste is warm, harmonious and has a good structure. The wine goes well with red meat-based dishes and important roasted dishes. For serving, a medium-sized wine glass is recommended, and the wine can be drunk immediately after opening, at a temperature between 16°C and 18°C. The ideal storage conditions for this wine are a constant temperature of 16°C, with controlled light conditions.
