Product description
This beautiful Nero d'Avola, with the D.O.C. Sicilia classification, is a true ode to the sun-drenched vineyards of Marsala and the surrounding areas in Trapani (TP). The grapes, grown since 2005 at an altitude between 20 and 80 metres above sea level, find their nutrient-rich soil in clayey soil of medium texture. With a yield of around 70 quintals per hectare, the Nero d'Avola grapes thrive beautifully on espalier vines, subject to a careful guyot pruning technique. The harvest, which takes place in early September, marks the beginning of a careful vinification process. After destemming and pressing, the must remains on the skins for eight to 10 days before fermentation continues in 600-hectolitre stainless steel tanks. The wine then undergoes a refinement of about 5 to 6 months in used oak barrels before being bottled in February/March. With an alcohol content of 13.50% Vol, this wine embodies the warm sunshine of Sicily. With a total acidity of 5.20 and an ageing capacity of 5 to 6 years, it reveals its deep ruby colour when poured at an ideal temperature of 16-18 °C. The bouquet is intense and consists of berries, enriched with pleasant notes of plum and cherry. It powerfully expresses the characteristic elements of the Nero d'Avola. On the palate, the wine reveals a solid structure with a slight acidity, fruity friendliness and intensity of flavour. The sweet tannins present offer an elegant balance. This wine is an excellent companion for all dishes with red meat, roasts and game, but also comes into its own with a tasty cheese and charcuterie board. Let this Nero d'Avola transport you to the sun-drenched hills of Sicily, where every sip is a tribute to the rich traditions of this beautiful wine region.
