Product description
The Nero d'Avola DOC Sicilia is a red wine made from 100% Nero d'Avola and goes well with various types of meat dishes, and the slightly more mature cheeses.
This wine is a Sicilian wine with a geographical indication, from the province of Trapani, in the regions of Marsala, Mazara del Vallo and Salemi. The climate is typically Mediterranean, with mild winters, limited rainfall and a very hot, well-ventilated summer. The vineyards are at an altitude of about 80 metres above sea level, and the terroir consists of a medium mix of sandy and slightly clayey soils. The grapes are harvested by hand, which is a traditional harvesting method. The specific grape variety used is the Nero d'Avola. Vinification also follows traditional methods, with prolonged maceration at controlled temperatures. The alcohol content is 12.5% vol.
The wine has an intense ruby red colour and a powerful aroma reminiscent of cherries and forest fruits. The palate is warm and harmonious, with noble acidic notes coming together. The wine pairs well with meat dishes, roasted meats and game. To serve this wine, a Bordeaux-type wine glass is recommended, at a temperature between 16°C and 18°C. It is ideal to keep this wine at a constant temperature of 16°C, with controlled light.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
