Product description
The Nizza Riserva DOCG is a red wine made from 100% Barbera that goes best with hearty red meat, stuffed pasta and mature cheeses. The grapes are grown on a soil of chalky marl and the vineyard is located at an altitude of 380 metres above sea level, with southern exposure. Harvesting is done manually with only the best grapes selected. Vinification of this wine takes place in steel tanks, leaving the grape skins in contact with the juice for 10 to 12 days for maceration. The "shower system" gently humidifies the grape skins. Initial temperatures are around 30°C and then drop to 27°C. Malolactic fermentation takes place in steel tanks.
This wine has had a minimum maturation of 18 months, including 12 months in large barrels before further aging in bottle. If this wine is stored under good conditions, it is excellent for drinking up to 15 to 20 years after the vintage. The wine has an intense ruby red colour. The aroma is clear and elegant, with notes of red fruit, ripe cherries, raspberries and subtle hints of sweet tobacco. The palate is full and structured, with a gentle softness and roundness. The mouthfeel finishes pleasantly salty. The wine has an alcohol content of 14% and should be drunk at a temperature of 16-18°C. If possible, it is recommended to decant the wine before serving.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
