The 'Pigna Rossa' Montecucco DOCG Sangiovese Riserva 2020 is a red wine made from 100% Sangiovese that goes well with game, mature cheeses and heartier meat dishes.
The wine has a deep garnet red colour. On the nose, the wine has aromas of ripe fruit with hints of vanilla and coffee. On the palate, the wine is a good mix between structure and complexity that gives a fine balance. The manually selected and picked grapes are carefully destemmed and crushed in the second half of September. The maceration with skin takes place for roughly 18 days after which the wine ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine matures in oak barrels after which it is bottled after 24 months.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
