      Product description

      Podere Le Caggiole is Tiberini's most iconic wine and a true reflection of the tradition and culture of Montepulciano. This wine is blended from 90% Prugnolo Gentile, 5% Canaiolo Nero and 5% Mammolo - grapes sourced from all the estate's vineyards. Maturation takes place for around 24 months in large 20- to 34-hectolitre French oak barrels, followed by at least a year and a half of rest in bottle. The result is a wine that clearly reflects the unique character of the terroir as well as the recognisable style of the Tiberini family.

      In the glass, Podere Le Caggiole shows a ruby red colour tending towards garnet red, with a subtle violet edge. The bouquet opens with aromas of ripe red fruit and references to Coscia di Monaca, the indigenous plum variety of Montepulciano found in all of Tiberini's wines. In addition, nuances of spices, leather and tobacco are perceptible. On the palate, the wine is powerful and full-bodied, with nice length, soft tannins and a firm structure that provides balance and elegance.

      This harmonious and characterful wine lends itself perfectly to dishes with hearty sauces, roasted or broiled red meat, game or mature cheeses. Even unaccompanied, this wine shows excellent tasting, for those looking for depth and refinement in the glass. Podere Le Caggiole is best enjoyed at a serving temperature of 18 to 20°C, preferably after a few hours of aeration.
