Product description
Poggiardello is a typical Tuscan wine, born of tradition and simplicity, but with enough body to be excellent even with richer meals. This wine consists of 85% Prugnolo Gentile, the local variant of Sangiovese, supplemented by 15% other indigenous grape varieties from our vineyards. Vinification takes place in stainless steel and concrete tanks, which allows us to fully preserve the fresh, fruity expression of the grape material.
In the glass, Poggiardello shows with a pure ruby colour and a vibrant violet glow. The nose reveals intense aromas of red fruits and cherries, with subtle hints of black pepper. Also striking is the recognisable scent of Coscia di Monaca, a local plum variety from Montepulciano, which is characteristic of all our wines. On the palate, the wine is powerful and persistent, with lively acidity that provides a fresh, balanced and round taste experience.
Poggiardello is versatile and lends itself to many occasions. It goes excellently with pasta dishes, meat or mild cheeses, but is also a pleasure to drink on its own, even outside meals. Serve this wine preferably at 18 °C and give it a short time to breathe, so that its character can unfold optimally.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
