Cantina Pisoni's Rebo is a unique and local creation with a fascinating origin. This cross between Merlot and Teroldego was developed in the early 1950s by Rebo Rigotti, a researcher from Valle dei Laghi. Named after its creator, the grape found its perfect habitat in its native region. The result is a wine that is not only a child of this region, but also a powerful expression of its terroir.
Rebo is a wine of great structure, deep ruby red in colour and rich in soft tannins. The wine is aged for 24 months in barriques and a further 12 months in bottle, giving it impressive complexity and excellent ageing potential. On the nose, it presents an inviting bouquet of spices and wild berries, while on the palate it is silky smooth with refined notes of sour cherry and red currant.
Its full-bodied yet elegant character makes this wine the perfect companion to red meat, from lamb to juicy rib-eye from the grill. Rebo manages to effortlessly combine the power of Merlot with the gentle refinement of Teroldego, making it a true tribute to its native soil and possessing an unmistakable personality.
