The Passito from Cascina Garitina is a sweet wine made from Barbera grapes, bottled in 500 ml bottles. The grapes are harvested a bit early and dried on racks for three months, then pressed and fermented. After that, the wine ages for three years in wooden barrels and another three years in the bottle before it’s sold, giving it a strong and refined taste.
With its residual sugars and the freshness of the Barbera grape, this Passito is versatile and fits many dishes. It goes perfectly with cheese and dark chocolate but shines especially as an after-dinner drink. The long aging gives this wine a deep and rich character that stays both sweet and fresh.
Serve this Passito at 14°C to 16°C to enjoy the balance between sweetness and freshness fully. This wine is a special treat, great for special moments or to finish a meal in style. You can taste the patience of six years of aging in every sip.
