The name of this exclusive wine, Sarica, is a tribute to Marco and Stefano's two first-born daughters: Sara and Federica. This wine is the result of a special and exciting blend of Syrah and Pinot Noir - two noble grape varieties that find their ideal home on the sun-drenched hills of Pergolese, where the Pisoni family's vineyards are nurtured by fresh mountain breezes from the Valle dei Laghi. Since its first vintage in 1994, Sarica has managed to surprise and seduce many a wine lover.
The grapes are grown, harvested and then aged with great care: first 24 months in barrique, followed by another 12 months of bottle aging. This long refinement creates a balanced character in which the spicy intensity of Syrah blends beautifully with the velvety fruity notes of Pinot Noir. The result is a wine with a deep ruby colour and purple reflections, which immediately impresses in the nose with its floral and spicy aromas, supported by a hint of vanilla.
On the palate, Sarica reveals an elegant structure with flavours of cherry and black cherry, enveloped by a fine wood touch and a soft finish. It is a wine that lends itself perfectly to pairing with stewed meats, dishes with pronounced flavours and mature cheeses. Thanks to its versatility and layering, Sarica is a fixture in Pisoni's range - a wine that manages to amaze again and again.
