Sermiers 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs is an elegant and refined Champagne made from 100% Chardonnay, from the charming village of Sermiers, located on the north side of the Montagne de Reims. This area is known for its unique terroir of clay soils, a historic domain for Pinot Meunier, where Chardonnay shows surprising freshness and depth.
The blend is composed of grapes from six different parcels, with the base wine being the 2020 vintage and 30% reserve wine from a perpetual reserve started in 2018. A partial vinification in wooden barrels (30%) adds a soft, silky texture, while barrel and malolactic fermentation ensures a perfect balance between freshness, fruitiness and complexity. The Champagne rests in the cellar for 18 to 24 months, after which it is hand-aged. The dosage of 5 grams per litre underlines the refined, dry style. With a limited production of only 1,000 bottles a year, this is a rare gem.
