ONWINE: Our mission
The wine world is broken!
The modern wine market is flooded with mass-produced wines, importers are profiting from winemakers, and if we don’t intervene, it will cost thousands of wine families who have been producing beautiful wines for generations. In this broken market, the middleman (read: importer) is the one making profits, while the small local winemaker is struggling to keep their family business afloat. Out of love for the small winemaker, ONWINE was founded 3 years ago. Love for the winemaker, but also frustration with the conservative wine world, are the driving forces behind our mission. We have made it our mission to make the wine world fairer and more transparent through our platform, which facilitates a direct transaction between winemaker and wine lover. No middleman, with transparent prices and fair margins for the winemaker. We can’t change the wine world alone, but more and more winemakers and wine lovers are joining our mission.

1. Invest in ONWINE: To grow and increase our impact on small winemakers and the wine world, we need growth capital. Capital to invest in marketing, our platform, expanding the number of winemakers on the platform, and, of course, the ONWINE organization.
That’s why we’ve launched a sharefunding campaign where you can become a co-owner of ONWINE. Your shares grow with ONWINE to provide a nice return, and you’ll be part of the disruptive movement in the wine world.

2. Order directly from the winemaker via ONWINE: The simplest way to support winemakers and our mission is by ordering beautiful wines directly from one of the many winemakers from Italy, France, or Germany.
They receive a fair margin for their wine and personally send it to your doorstep. Just as it should always be. Check out our winemakers here >
3. Recommend a winemaker: Do you know a small winemaker from Italy, Germany, or France who could use some help, or have you ever been on vacation at a winemaker whose wines you can’t find in the Netherlands? This is a perfect example of how the wine world is dictated by importers and how life is made difficult for small winemakers. Send us your unique winemaker, and we will make sure they get a spot on our platform, and you will soon be able to easily order their wines at a fair price. 4. Share your ideas: We work with a small but highly creative and driven team on our mission, but we are always open to tips, tricks, and collaborations that contribute to the success of our mission. Together, we can shake up the wine world. Send us an email or message on social media to grab a coffee (or wine, of course)!
What is ONWINE changing in the wine world?
- ONWINE removes the middleman (importer or agents) from the transaction.
- ONWINE ensures that the winemaker receives much better margins for their wine.
- ONWINE does not set prices. The winemaker fully determines the price and supply themselves.
- ONWINE provides the winemaker with a lifeline in a changing wine world where they can barely keep survive.
- ONWINE does not sell wine but offers the winemaker the opportunity to sell. Each winemaker’s ‘store’ is fully set up by the winemaker.
- ONWINE operates without inventory; it is held by the winemaker.
- ONWINE is entirely impartial; any winemaker can join the platform.
- ONWINE brings transparency to a not-so-transparent market. We are transparent about our mission, margins, and all other matters that would give the average importer a headache.
With ONWINE, we bring the love for local winemakers and their unique stories directly to the wine lover, while bypassing the traditional and often unfair wine market. Together, we can save the winemaker and change the wine world.
