Vines: Nebbiolo grapes with the addition of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Features: Sorèl is a unique wine, from a precise vintage of Nebbiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, sourced from vineyards with a particular vocation. The Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard was planted in 1984 in Teglio, at an altitude of about 600 metres above sea level. Grape harvest does not start before St Martin (November 11) of each year.
Vineyards: a south-facing sun exposure in the Valtellina Superiore Valgella production areas in the municipality of Teglio at an altitude between 400 and 600 metres above sea level. Soil type: Sandy soil, permeable, moderately deep.
Vinification: Separate fermentation of the two grapes "a cappello sommerso" for about 10 days at a controlled temperature.
Maturation: Wines obtained from separate fermentations are then blended together and aged in barriques (French oak barrels) for 18 months. With refinement in bottle for a minimum of 8 months.
Aging potential: average 6-7 years.
