Product description
The 'Soroi' Cannonau di Sardegna DOC Classico Riserva from Cantine di Orgosolo is a red wine made from 100% Cannonau that is best with stews, lamb and aged cheeses.
This 'Soroi' Cannonau di Sardegna Riserva has an intense ruby red colour that tends towards garnet with time. The aroma is intense and enveloping, with ripe fruit such as plums and sour cherries, complemented by spicy notes and balsamic accents. On tasting, the wine is warm and well-structured, with soft and velvety tannins providing harmony. The finish is long and filmy. The grapes are carefully selected from the Locoe and Sorasi valleys and the high altitude areas of "Sa Lacana" in Orgosolo. Cantina di Orgosolo pays particular attention to the choice of grapes for this Riserva wine, preferring old vineyards at least 30 years old, located on high hills and with excellent organoleptic parameters. Produced from 100% Cannonau grapes, this wine is vinified in small vineyards with control over each plant, using quality-oriented growing methods. After harvesting, the grapes are hand-picked and then fermented in stainless steel tanks. Maturation takes place in oak barrels for 24 months, followed by a further 3 months in bottle. This wine has an alcohol content of 16% and is best served at a temperature of 18-20°C. It is ideal to pair with lamb stews, fine roasts and well-matured cheeses. The labelling of the bottle features an accordion-shaped label, closed with silk thread produced in Orgosolo, following a centuries-old tradition that embodies a precious craftsmanship that inspires these wines. The inside of the label is embellished with historical photos, taken by the famous photographer Franco Pinna, in the 1960s-1962s in Orgosolo.
