The 'Urúlu' Cannonau de Sardegna DOC from Cantine di Orgosolo is a red wine made from Cannonau, Monica, Cargnano, Bovalo and is best enjoyed with rich pastas, roasted meats and mature cheeses.
Urùlu, a deep ruby Cannonau di Sardegna, embodies the rich tradition of winemaking in the beautiful region of Sardinia. The intense aromas of forest fruits, enriched with spicy and balsamic notes, envelop the senses. With every sip, this wine offers a warm, well-structured experience, balancing soft tannins with refreshing vibrancy, resulting in a highly harmonious finish that lingers for a long time.
This enchanting blend is nourished by carefully selected grapes from the valleys of Locoe and Sorasi, as well as from the high-altitude terrains of "Sa Lacana", located in the heart of Orgosolo. The small vineyards, spread over gentle hills, are lovingly and diligently tended by local winemakers, who take advantage of the natural health of the environment, minimising the use of pesticides.
The unique character of Urùlu is accentuated by careful aging of 12 months in oak barrels of second and third passage, followed by a rest period of 3 months in bottle before it is released for sale. With an alcohol content of 15% and recommended serving temperature between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius, Urùlu reveals its full potential best when served with rich pasta dishes, roasted meats and well-aged cheeses, pairing particularly well with roast suckling pig.
The labelling of Urùlu, sealed with silk thread from Orgosolo, reflects the deep-rooted tradition of craftsmanship and skill that surrounds this wine, and is further enhanced by historical photographs on the inside of the label, captured by the famous photographer Franco Pinna between 1960 and 1962 in Orgosolo.
