Product description
The 'Vegnot' Dolcetto d'Asti DOC is a red wine made from 100% Dolcetto that is best drunk with fine meats and aged cheeses. This wine owes its name to a nickname in Piedmontese that refers to a small piece of land near home. This wine is known for its complex structure and reveals aromas of ripe fruit and red flowers. Despite the name, which can be somewhat confusing, it is a dry wine with moderate acidity. The name actually refers to the flavour of the grape used to make the wine. A special characteristic of the Dolcetto grape used for this wine is that, despite its name (dolcetto means 'little sweet'), it produces wines that are dry and robust, rather than sweet. The 'Vegnot' Dolcetto d'Asti DOC is excellent when drunk relatively young and goes well with fine meats, aged cheeses and dishes with a firm texture, such as pastas with meat sauce or main courses with red meat. Following Piedmontese tradition, it is also a good match with the typical dish "bogna cauda". Serve this wine at room temperature, around 12-14°C, to achieve the best taste experience.
