Local passion, global quality
A deep, elegant terroir wine from nearly hundred-year-old vines, organically grown and aged 44 months in French oak.
Product description
Vigneto Campaccio is an exceptional wine that reflects the unique character of a historic plot in Montepulciano. The grapes come from old vines rooted for almost a century in a special soil of compact clay and stone. In this vineyard, where natural harmony and biodiversity are central, grow the indigenous varieties Prugnolo Gentile, Canaiolo Nero and Mammolo. The Tiberini family treats this piece of land with the utmost respect and works according to organic principles, making the wine a pure expression of its origins.
Vigneto Campaccio is aged for 44 months in 500-litre French oak tonneaux from Allier and Vosges, without the wood dominating the wine. This is followed by a bottle ageing of more than two years, allowing the wine to fully develop its refined complexity. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red colour with garnet hues and violet reflections. The bouquet is rich in ripe red fruit, wild berries, tobacco, spices and black pepper, with a distinctive hint of Coscia di Monaca, the local plum variety so peculiar to this region. The palate is powerful and structured, with elegant tannins, lively acidity and a remarkably long finish.
This wine is a perfect companion to roasted or grilled red meat, game and mature cheeses, but also comes into its own as a meditation wine, without a meal. Serve Vigneto Campaccio preferably at a temperature of 18 to 20°C. Ideally, open the bottle several hours before drinking, or carefully decant to allow the wine to show its full potential. This wine is an ode to tradition, patience and the deep bond between land and winemaker.
