The Weissburgunder - Chardonnay Trocken 2022 from Fürst Hohenlohe Oehringen is a finely structured white wine made from Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and Chardonnay.
This wine shines in the glass with a bright lemon yellow color and seduces with aromas of peach and quince. On the palate, it shows the power and structure of the Chardonnay, which balances this cuvée perfectly and makes it a delight even without accompanying a meal. The wine was raised entirely in stainless steel tanks, which emphasizes its fresh and pure character.
The terroir consists mainly of Gipskeuper, which contributes to the wine's unique minerality. With an alcohol content of 12.0%, this wine offers drinking pleasure until 2028, if served at an ideal drinking temperature of 6 to 8°C.
The 2022 vintage was characterized by a rather dry vintage, but still achieved its balance thanks to late rains in September. The initially high must weights were perfectly offset by moisture retention, resulting in a balanced wine with a refined flavor structure.
Fürst Hohenlohe Oehringen, one of the oldest family-owned businesses in Germany, has mastered the art of winemaking since 1253. This VDP-certified estate, now in its 27th generation, is renowned for its organically certified vineyards, including the prestigious monopoly vineyard "Verrenberger Verrenberg." On 17 hectares of carefully selected plots, traditional grape varieties such as Riesling, Lemberger, and Pinot Noir are cultivated.
