Weingut Heinrich Spindler
Forst an der Weinstraße, Palatinate
Located in the heart of the Palatinate, Weingut Heinrich Spindler tells a story of vision, tradition and refinement dating back to 1620. In that year, Sontag Spindler left the Burgundian homeland to settle in the Palatinate, a bold move in the early years of the Thirty Years' War. Despite the circumstances, Spindler took a long-term view. He began buying up vineyards and, after the end of the war, acquired one of Germany's most vaunted plots: the Kirchenstück. This extraordinary site was officially recognised as a top vineyard in 1828 when it was ranked in the highest tax class.
